A beautiful women’s stole made of all natural materials: Merino wool, silk, and cotton. Very soft and comfortable for the winter. Both the weaving and finishing of this stole are done with great care. The ends are finished with brushed, black silk fringes of about 1.5cm. The design is made up of classic Indian Kashmir motifs, lending the stole a classic touch. The color scheme of this particular stole is divided into three parts: one base is dominated by brick red, another by beige, and another by chestnut brown. This beautiful stole would make a perfect original, chic gift!
INSPIRATION

We used Indian Kashmir designs in designing this scarf’s motif as a hommage to the great Lyon textile designers of the 19th century, who largely drew their inspiration from Kashmir. This finely drawn design features small flowers grouped together in the form of Indian pine cones, is a true classic of textile decoration in both Indian and Central Asian artisanal work as well as in contemporary French creations.

OUTFIT PAIRING IDEAS

As soon as the first chills of winter begin to set in, our Paisley stole will become indispensable. With its hues of brick red and beige, it can be paired with a chocolate brown coat, with a black or anthracite jacket, or with a leather jacket in any color. The elegance of this large scarf can also complete an otherwise all-black look, adding a small splash of color. Ideal for daily use in mid-season as well as at the height of winter.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To swash a wool stole, we advise washing by hand. Do not let it soak for too long. To dry, put the scarf in a cotton towel to soak up the excess water, but do not wring it out or twist it. Then lay the scarf flat to dry. You can restore the scarf’s softness and delicate touch by ironing on high heat with the vapor function. While putting it in the dryer is absolutely out of the question, you can take it in for dry cleaning instead.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The weaving method used to make this scarf, known as the Jacquard method, involves the interweaving of a silk warp thread with a Merino wool and cotton weft thread, using a specific pattern. In order to do this, the Fabrique d’Écharpe weaving atelier uses Jacquard looms. The Jacquard loom was developed by Lyon-native Joseph Marie Jacquard in 1801, who created the first mechanical system that could be programmed with perforated cards to create a design by interweaving different colored threads. Thanks to the artisan weaving knowledge transmitted to us from generation to generation since 1880, today we have electronically controlled looms that allow for the scarf to be produced with impeccable quality all while respecting the purest methods of traditional Lyon Jacquard weaving.
